GOYO: ANG BATANG HENERAL – September 5

This Philippine historical epic film starring Paulo Avelino as Gregorio del Pilar, the youngest General known as the Hero of Tirad Pass is all ready for watching. Written, directed, edited, and scored by Jerrold Tarog, this sequel to Heneral Luna also stars Carlo Aquino, Mon Confiado, Epy Quizon, Gwen Zamora, Empress Schuck, Alvin Anson and Rafa Siguion-Reyna. This is said to be even bigger than the already highly successful Heneral Luna. So don’t miss this.

ALONG WITH THE GODS 2: THE LAST 49 DAYS – September 5

This fantasy epic that follows through on the journey of the deceased soul of Su-hong and his three afterlife guardians smashed box office records in Korea. In this thrilling climax, they face their remaining trials to obtain their reincarnation. The guardians come face to face with the buried truth of their tragic time on earth a thousand years ago, culminating in a final battle with a rogue god. This second film will focus on the themes of forgiveness and redemption and will captivate old and new followers of this story.

THE NUN – September 6

A young nun in a cloistered abbey in Romania kills herself. A priest with a dubious past and a young novice are sent by the Vatican to investigate. What they uncover is a secret that is most unholy. The two face danger to life, limb, faith and their very souls when they come face to face with a demonic nun. This scary movie is actually part of the Conjuring series – the prequel to both The Conjuring and Annabelle.

THE HOPEFUL ROMANTIC – September 12  

If you love romantic comedies, this is the one that will lift you up this season. Pepe Herrera (that iconic face with the Afro haircut in a Coca-Cola commercial) is Jess, who falls head over heels in love with Veronica (Ritz Azul), who can best be described as va-va-voom. The process of falling in love here is totally hilarious, unpredictable and yet, believable. It’s a quirky pairing that will appeal to romantics out there, especially those who like pretty girl-funny guy match-ups. Nikko Natividad, Janine Desiderio, Beverly Salviejo, Bodjie Pascua, Joey Marquez, Atoy Co also star in this movie directed by Topel Lee.

THE PREDATOR The Hunt Has Evolved – September 12

This fourth installment in the Predator series follows through on the menace that‘s hard to kill. Back from space and now in the small-town streets of suburbia, their return here is accidentally triggered by a little boy. Now they’re stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, with genetically upgraded DNA from other species. Only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a science teacher are ready to do battle and prevent the end of the human race.

NAKALIMUTAN KO NA KALIMUTAN KA – September 19  

Alex Gonzaga’s new movie is a lot of fun and fans will relate because of the “hugot” lines generously sprinkled into the plot. It’s a bittersweet, weepy-funny film written and directed by former Pinoy Big Brother Housemate Fifth Solomon.

SMALLFOOT – September 19

It’s all about POV (Point Of View). A Yeti named Migo gets his community all excited when he discovers something none of them have ever seen before: a human. And what do they call them? Right. Smallfoot. This twist on legends revolves around Migo (Channing Tatum), the Bigfoot who is convinced that the elusive Smallfoot truly does exist. Now the shoe is on the other foot. This 3D computer-animated musical comedy-adventure film is based on the book Yeti Tracks by Sergio Pablos.

VENOM – October 3

One of Marvel’s worst and most notorious villains now has a movie of his own.

Reporter Eddie Brock (played by Tom Hardy of Mad Max: Fury Road fame) develops superpowers after becoming a host to an alien parasite. And then the fun begins. This is an action-packed movie with lots of good times for those who like their movies fast and furious. Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate and Woody Harrelson co-star.

JOHNNY ENGLISH STRIKES AGAIN – October 24

The new spy action adventure begins when a cyber attack reveals the identities of all active undercover agents in Britain, leaving Johnny English as the secret service’s last hope. THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS – October 31

Young Clara needs a magical, one-of-a-kind key to unlock a box that contains a priceless gift. A golden thread leads her to the coveted key, but it soon disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. In that world, she meets a soldier named Phillip, a group of mice and the regents who preside over three realms. Clara and Phillip must now enter the fourth realm to retrieve the key and restore harmony to the unstable land. Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy of Twilight fame and Helen Mirren star in this movie.
